On Saturday 8^th October 2016, Cycling UK held their annual members conference in Manchester and as a newly established community group, Lady Pedal were invited to attend. The day was kicked off by lots of inspirational speakers and the Big Bike Revival, who were are lovely sponsors for the festival!

On arrival, Eve Holt and I ushered all the female attendees into a group photo to celebrate how many wonderful women there were.  The most there’s ever been too!

Next was the awards ceremony with lots of great trophies for some incredible people and groupe. Notably the best community group award went to Whalley Range on Wheels, who supported Lady Pedal Festival and is a great backer for the movement.

After many coffees and cakes came the workshops to round off the day with Lady Pedal attending the community champions group. The talks were very insightful and motivating, they gave a brilliant example of how a community group from Liverpool transformed young offenders into bike mechanics who fixed bikes for free for the public!
